What are the most common GMAT Misconceptions?

The GMAT is a standardized test and is one of the most important evaluation criteria for the selection of candidates for postgraduate programs in Greece and abroad.

Although it is a test that can make any candidate even more competitive even if it is not one of the requirements for admission to some programs, a lot of candidates having a wrong image of the specific test and its preparation avoid taking it.

The most common misconceptions about the GMAT test are the following and we are here to refute them:

Misconception 1

X “In order to be able to solve the Quantitative section (or mathematics) one must have excellent knowledge of mathematics”

✔️ The above sentence is wrong as anyone who has graduated from High School can solve the Quantitative section.

Misconception 2

X “Only if you know English as your mother tongue can you succeed in the Verbal section (or otherwise in English)”

✔️ This proposal is far from reality as everyone who has an English level of B2 and above can do extremely well in this section.

Misconception 3

X “Preparing for the GMAT is very time consuming, it takes at least 6 months to achieve a good score”

X “The GMAT test is only useful for admission to university programs”
