GMAT Focus for Masters or MBA

The GMAT is an aptitude test required by over 7,700 graduate programs worldwide. Business schools use it as a common benchmark to evaluate candidates, setting minimum scores. The GMAT score reflects the candidate’s verbal, quantitative, logical, and analytical skills, indicating his or her suitability for the program.

A high GMAT score makes a candidate more competitive compared to others, giving him a comparative advantage even when the program itself does not require the GMAT. It can also enhance the candidate’s application by bolstering areas of weakness, such as a low GPA, low grades in specific courses, or lack of work experience. In any case, the GMAT test highly increases the chances of acceptance at top universities.

It is worth noting that achieving a score above 650 on the GMAT can lead to possible partial or full scholarships and enrich a candidate’s resume. Furthermore, the structure of the GMAT test facilitates the development of critical reasoning skills for the candidate. It prepares him to meet the demands of a graduate program or a job search as well. Multinational companies either use similar tests to evaluate applicants or view more favorably candidates who have the GMAT on their resumes.

Moreover, the GMAT is a Computer Adaptive Test (CAT). This means it is administered exclusively on a computer. As we answer questions correctly, the difficulty level of subsequent questions increases, leading to a higher score. Conversely, answering incorrectly leads to easier subsequent questions, and a correct answer to those questions slightly increases our score.

FAQ: What GMAT score may be required?

In the GMAT test, there is no Pass or Fail. Each university sets its own threshold as a prerequisite for admitting candidates to a graduate program. The higher the score achieved on the GMAT, the higher the chances of acceptance!
